This poster is signed in bright white ink by the artist Randy Tuten!
We’ve offered many beautiful posters produced by noted artist Randy Tuten over the years however here we have one we’ve NEVER sold before until now! This Bill Graham poster advertises concerts in 1973 at Golden Gate Park’s Kezar Stadium by two of the most popular heavy-hitter names in the history of rock: The Grateful Dead and Led Zeppelin! The May 26th Dead show was originally scheduled as two dates at the Cow Palace on May 22nd and 23rd but was then rescheduled for the Kezar.
In the late sixties after a year of being rejected as a poster artist by Chet Helms at the Avalon a young Randy Tuten took his portfolio to the Fillmore where Bill Graham immediately hired him. Tuten was partial to traditional advertising styles and Graham was bound to see his work as something more like his own tastes. Graham continued to tap Tuten through the seventies for poster design work time and time again for venues like the Oakland Stadium Cow Palace and others.
