This poster has just emerged from a recently unearthed and long held collection of Texas posters. Several of the posters in the collection including this one were at one timed owned by Texas poster Artist Ken Fetherston. Ken was a major figure in the history of Armadillo World Headquarters and met his tragic end by mistakenly being shot to death at the venue at the age of 23 in 1975.
This poster is personalized to Ken "Thanks forever live happy -Roy Buchanan" is written / signed in ink at the bottom of this amazing Texas poster from 1974.
Armadillio World Headquarters posters are currently enjoying top collector demand. This can be attributed to several reasons including scarcity historical significance as ground zero in the Texas psychedelic scene and the recently published book on the venue "Armadillio World Headquarters - A Memoir" by Eddie Wilson with Jesse Sublett and forward by Dave Marsh. This example is the first signed piece of this issue we have seen go to public auction. We sold a similiary graded example of this poster that was NOT signed by Buchanan for $817 on 12/15/16.
