This original Bob Marley poster was produced for a concert at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium in December 1979 and we’re happy to announce this is the FIRST example to be offered in our auction! Marley would begin recording material for his “Uprising” studio album only a month later.
By late 1979 Bob Marley’s songwriting and performances were politically charged. His songs like "Zimbabwe" and "Africa Unite” reflected Marley's support for the struggles of Africans. His appearance at the Amandla Festival in Boston a few months prior exhibited his strong opposition to South African apartheid. This Santa Cruz poster is in clean museum quality condition with only light handling on the top edge holding it back from a higher grade.
