Here we have a historic and unbelievably desirable piece of rock and roll history. This original handbill is from the very very early days of Tom Petty’s career. Petty's first real band was Mudcrutch and featured Petty along with Mike Campbell on guitar and Benmont Tench on keyboards and both would join Petty in the Heartbreakers in 1976.
The University of Florida staff who booked the show changed the date of the concert from Friday July 9th to Saturday July 10th. All of the promotional material including this handbill for the show have the previous date written over and corrected with the new date. The black marker was originally applied by the distributors of the promo material prior to the show.
Get this...Mudcrutch was formed in 1970 and this handbill promotes a concert in 1971. Even more fabulous is that this show was performed in Petty's home town of Gainesville Florida. But that's not all...this historic handbill is in superb museum quality condition! Tom Petty material has been skyrocketing since the legend's passing and this gem will attract attention. A real Blue Chip rock and roll collectible!
