This incredible early Avalon Ballroom poster was created by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse two of the most legendary artists of the era. The FD-17 is universally recognized as one of the most stunning posters in the entire Family Dog series. Just 1000 specimens were created. It's highly sought after and always competitively fought over whenever it appears at public auction.
The Original Pre-Concert FD-17's were printed with runs of Gold and Silver ink. This Original Version 2 shown here was printed in silver ink. It's less common and much harder to find than the gold ink version. This beautiful example in super clean condition with no nicks cuts tears or pinholes and it's SIGNED by Stanley Mouse! Just a few light areas of foxing attesting to it's original unrestored condition hold this back from a much higher grade. In our opinion this poster is grossly undergraded since we've seen many concert posters graded 9.4-9.6 by CGC that are no better in quality than this example. Take a look at the high res photo and see for yourself. Should provide an exceptional value for the collector paying attention and reading the condition details of each lot.
