The Monkees embarked on a United States tour in 1969 to promote their new album “Instant Reply” and this stop at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in September produced this poster. The shows during this era of the band are significant due to it being their last formative tour. Micky Dolenz Davy Jones Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith performed their last concert together 3 months later.
This original concert poster has bright artwork and exhibits an illustrated Davy Jones in the graphics. It also advertises some "suprise TV stars" will be appearing at the fair! Reprints of this poster have surfaced over the years however the original pre-concert first printings like this one here are all but scarce. We have never seen one offered at public auction before now and THIS one is in superb museum quality condition!
