The Ricky-Tick Club in Windsor Berkshire England was a small but very influential rhythm & blues club during the 1960’s. It hosted an impressive list of performers in its day including Hendrix Pink Floyd and the Stones. These small and somewhat basic looking Original Handbills were produced as event schedule lists for upcoming performances at the venue. The club changed locations a few times during the course of the decade.
A few things worthy of note about this particular handbill here are: “Little” Stevie Wonder booked on January 27th The Ricky-Tick helped introduce Motown to music fans in the UK with groups like The Supremes The Temptations and with this handbill Stevie Wonder. Also note the appearance of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton on February 5th! This golden era of the group saw the return to the Decca Record Label and their recording sessions for the “Beano” album started a month from this show!
