We are very happy to offer this ultra rare poster advertising the 1967 Festival Honoring Muhammad Ali at Hunter's Point! This is FIRST EVER AUCTION APPEARANCE of this ALTERNATE YET ORIGINAL Pre-Concert issue. The 2 day event featured The Charlatans The Steve Miller Blues Band The San Francisco Mime Troupe and many others.
Some of you are probably aware of the more "common" poster produced for this festival which is featured in the ART OF ROCK as AOR 2.245 designed by Joe Gomez. THAT poster is a rarity in itself as only 200 prints were produced. THIS lot is multiple times rarer!
We have NEVER SEEN this poster here surface at public auction before. This poster is 100% Original has been cared for and safely stored for decades to keep it in museum quality condition – with only a touch of handling and a light bend in the bottom right keeping it from a perfect grade! An absolutely beautiful example of this poster from a semi-obscure Bay Area event. For all those collectors out there looking to acquire only the most unique treasures this lot has YOUR name on it!
