Another perfect 10 CGC Graded Gemstone in this auction and the FINEST example of this issue we have ever handled! This poster is another later Fillmore West offering from the pen of David Singer. Singer’s work often gets overlooked perhaps because his use of photo collage instead of pen and ink is not at first glance as striking as some of the earlier psychedelic Fillmore posters. However the artist’s body of work for Bill Graham consists of 66 of some of the best posters ever created. This particular Singer poster tells of a coming week at the Fillmore in 1970 that featured performances by Lee Michaels and Ten Years After.
The experienced collectors we talk to are 100% convinced that posters that have somehow miraculously earned a 10.0 grade from CGC are exceedingly undervalued at current market levels. Their reasoning is simple but firmly grounded in reality. In every other certified collectibles marketplace it’s COMMONPLACE for the absolute “Best of the Best” to command premiums of 10x 20x or even 50x the next grade down.
