Here we have the first Grateful Dead poster created by Victor Moscoso and it is commonly referred to as the Hippie Santa Claus. This striking Green and Red design announced a pair of late December shows at The Avalon featuring the Dead Steve Miller and Moby Grape. One of the most popular pieces of artwork promoting one of history's most beloved bands! This is just the THIRD CGC graded example of this poster we have auctioned...and the FINEST we've ever handled!

This amazing CGC graded example is way better than the PAE graded 95 example we auctioned for $1104 in January 2017. Most recently in May 2018 a lower graded 9.6 example reached $864 in our auction. In any other collectibles market this perfect 9.8 poster would be worth many multiples of the previously sold 9.6 example. It will be interesting to see what premium the market attaches to this superior example now. Specimens like this one that meet the super strict CGC grading standards of 9.8 are a TINY fraction of surviving examples and are ridiculously under appreciated at today's market levels. Don't let this opportunity pass you by!
