Blues Legend Big Mama Thorton took the stage at the Fillmore in October 1966. The headliner was actually The Butterfield Blues Band but Big Mama provided the central image for this oversized Wes Wilson creation. It should be noted that this was Grace Slick's first live performance with the Jefferson Airplane!
Thin paper large size and metallic ink make this poster very difficult to find in top condition. This lot is a “bargain hunter’s delight” for the following reason. This example is extremely conservatively graded even though it carries the 7.5 grade designation. It's one of those early BG issues that seldom appears at auction and this is a great opportunity for collectors to jump on one!
