The dance hall scene in San Francisco was distinctly differed from that in Detroit in the sixties mostly in character and flavor but both of these cities would be instrumental in the development of the psychedelic rock. When the bands from the west coast showed up in the motor city the faithful at the Grande there would be an instant kinship. When Bay area stalwarts big Brother played at the venue in 1968 they were as well received as they were at the Fillmore or Avalon . this poster which is the greatest remaining artifact from that concert is one of the most popular posters from the Grande series.
