This original handbill was created for the 1968 Northern California Folk Rock Festival in Santa Clara California. This annual event drew some of the biggest acts of the day. The ‘68 festival featured The Airplane on Saturday and The Doors on Sunday. Additional acts included Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin The Youngbloods The Electric Flag Kaleidoscope Taj Mahal and Ravi Shankar. Although not mentioned in the promotional material Grateful Dead also performed.

This stock image that was used in this handbill shows up frequently in several posters from the era including the Fantasy Faire poster from 1967 and the second No Cal Folk Festival in 1969 with Hendrix.
