Here we have an official Reprint of a classic Grateful Dead handbill. This mock cartoon image by John Van Hamersveld uses black and white photo cuts of band members like Pigpen and Jerry Garcia to promote a 2 night run at the Shrine featuring the “oldest juveniles in the state of California” The Grateful Dead. It's featured in the book "The Art of Rock" on page 255.
Make no mistake about it this handbill is EXTRA SPECIAL. John Van Hamersveld and the Grateful Dead do not appear together on posters often. There is a rabid demand for any posters or handbills featuring Pigpen. This lot offers the same popular and iconic art for less than a First Print currently commands!
