We are pleased to announce this is the FIRST time we’ve offered this Grateful Dead handbill in our auction. This 1971 original first printing gem uses the image of a 1969 band photograph taken by Herb Greene. Keyboardist Tom Constanten (pictured on the top left) had already left the group in January the year prior. Mickey Hart (bottom right) also departed the band two months before this Bangor Maine concert. However the Dead smoked a hot version of “China Cat>I Know You Rider” to open the 2nd set.

This handbill is a perfect example of a high quality collectible with everything going for it: Original first from a low-print run for a northern New England Dead concert in mint condition and head of the pack in scarcity and desirability. Read our Blog Dated 8/1/18 where we discuss the recent growth of the Dead’s legacy with today’s younger generation and the impact this has on authentic material in our collectors world.
