1983-The Reseda Country Club-RATT Cardboard Concert Poster-PAE Graded Near Mint '89'

Here we have an original COLBY Poster Printing Company specimen for a historic L.A. rock venue! The Reseda Country Club was leased by concert promoters Steve Wolf and Jim Rismiller in early 1979. They were the major promoters in Los Angeles at the time and therefore they were able to book premier shows of all types at the venue. The heavy metal group RATT performed in the 70’s and early 80’s with only a small cult following. They were booked to perform at the Reseda Country Club in 1983. It was just a year later they achieved national success with their Atlantic Records album “Out of the Cellar”.

The historic Colby Poster Printing Company produced promotional material between 1948 and 2012 and they became legendary for their signature fluorescent inks and bold all-caps typography although none of the original staff had any formal design training. They were members of the letterpress union the screen printers union and the typesetters union. Original cardboard posters are super popular and remain one of the most highly sought after type of concert memorabilia ever known.
