Are you an Early Dead collector? This is the FIRST example of this Original Program we have ever offered. The 1968 Newport Pop Festival was one of the earliest large-scale festivals. Held at the Orange County Fairgrounds the attendance was estimated at 140 000. The Grateful Dead played on Sunday August 4th. The full lineup of performers for the festival included Jefferson Airplane Sonny & Cher The Byrds Tiny Tim Country Joe & the Fish Eric Burdon and the Animals and more. This program features great photos of all the bands essays historic period advertisements and artwork. Vintage tour programs from the 60’s are harder to find with each passing year. As quantities of available programs decrease the more collectible they become. Early Grateful Dead material (especially with Pigpen photos) is constantly being scooped up by collectors and this lot will prove to be no different!
