It's the first time we've offered this Original Program! The legendary Newport Jazz Festival in 1969 was one of the most experimental of all. The lineup was particularly eclectic which included Led Zeppelin Frank Zappa Jeff Beck and Jethro Tull. Excess crowds of over 20 000 fans unable to obtain tickets led to gate crashing and other disturbances. Stories of the weekend went down in folklore for years after and in some ways it was a pre-cursor to Woodstock a month later. Vintage tour programs from the 60’s and early 70’s are harder to find with each passing year. As quantities of available programs become lower the more collectible they are.
