Grande Ballroom posters are a true collectors dream. They were printed in far fewer quantities than the Fillmore and Avalon series. The print runs were low around 500 copies per show whereas the usual Fillmore run was at least 2500 in 1967. The artwork is equally compelling with artists like Gary Grimshaw and Carl Lundgren creating visual masterworks on a weekly basis. The posters are obscenely difficult to find in undamaged condition plus the history of the Grande is as interesting as any of the San Francisco dance halls.

In this lot we are offering one of the posters that collectors of the Grande series “Cream” for The Ming is one of the major set breakers for the Grande posters. We have been fortunate to acquire the poster from the personal collection of a former light show artist at the Grande Ballroom. These posters have been in storage for the last 45+years .  The “Ming” almost never comes up for public sale and we have never seen an undamaged copy. If one were to surface it would easily fetch a five-figure sum. Here is your chance to own one of the hardest to find psychedelic era concert posters of all time.

This copy has a significant but clean tear on the left edge. Regardless this is the only copy we’ve ever been able to offer.  We have several other super rare Grande posters from this collection in our current sale and many others to be offered in the months to come. If you are a collector of rare Grande posters……here is your chance.
