Here we have a record breaker for the FINEST CGC Graded example of this issue we have ever offered. She is a beautiful flawless and perfect 9.8 museum quality collectible! This is an original pre-concert first printing poster by Gary Grimshaw for the Paupers. The Paupers were a short lived Canadian psychedelic rock band. This popular poster is one of the most sought after in the Grande Series. The vibrating photographic image and Grimshaw psychedelic lettering make this piece a sure winner. All posters from the Grande Ballroom are highly sought after and very collectible. Why? Because these posters were printed in extremely small runs of just 500 the Grande Ballroom was the epicenter of the 60’s scene in the upper Midwest and the artistic quality of the artworks rivals anything done out west. In May 2018 a signed lower 9.4 graded example reached $979 in our auction. In any other collectibles market this 9.8 poster would be worth many multiples of the previously sold 9.4 example. It will be interesting to see what premium the market attaches to this superior 9.8 example now.
