Talking Heads were one of the most original and entertaining bands of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. This Guy Juke poster announced a November 1980 Talking Heads show at the Armadillo; this concert was in support of the release of “Remain in Light” the Brian Eno produced masterpiece for this timeless band. More than any other great poster artist Juke continually experimented and developed his artistic styles. Overtime his reputation has deservedly grown as collectors gain perspective on his brilliance.
In addition and a MAJOR bonus this poster is from the legendary Armadillo HQ. We've been reporting for quite some time that interest in Armadillo HQ posters have been really heating up and a great new book on the subject was recently released. These posters have nowhere to go but up when it comes to interest and desirability!
This is the FINEST example of this issue we have seen or offered! In January 2018 a far lesser condition example (Grade Excellent 79) realized $500 in our auction. This example here is mint museum quality condition. In any other collectibles market this poster would be worth many multiples of the previously sold Excellent 79 example. It will be interesting to see what premium the market attaches to this superior mint example now.
