The Crystal Ballroom was built in 1914 as the Cotillion Dancehall in the northwest. It was constructed on ball bearings which created a mechanical “Floating Dance Floor” a concept that was unique on the west coast at the time. The venue had a brief flowering as a psychedelic rock ballroom from January 1967 through June 1968. The Encore Ballroom and Pythian Ballroom were northwest venues which also had short lifespans hosting rock bands in 1967.

These handbills are actual can labels printed on a press used to make commercial can labels!
