Inside the Grateful Dead's 1971 Live album there is a plea inside the gatefold that reads: "DEAD FREAKS UNITE Who are you? Where are you? How are you? Send us your name and address and we'll keep you informed." This lot is an original 1975 mailer sent to those that answered the plea. Printed in San Rafael CA it's an Official Grateful Dead in house fan-club newsletter. Uncle Sam in the pool graces the exterior of this 8-page fold out which discussed what the band members were up to during the 1974-76 hiatus Mickey Hart's Diga Rhythm Band the Grateful Dead movie in production and the new album "Blues For Allah" being recorded.

These mail order/fan club mailers are a part of Grateful Dead history. They show the highest level of appreciation from the band for the fans while at the same time trying to create and produce hstorical memorabilia for everyone to enjoy. This correspondance or should we dare say marketing was groundbreaking at the time. Ever since it has been a blueprint for other bands on how to build and maintain relationships with their fans. As such there can be no argument that this material posseses tremendous historical importance.

100% Original with no restoration.
