Born Chester Arthur Burnett Howlin’ Wolf was a Delta Blues innovator and one of the greatest live performers of all time in that genre. Along with artists like Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon Howlin ‘ Wolf was responsible in for the Blues Rock renaissance of the 1960s. Many of the San Francisco Bands of the day were influenced by and covered his music.

The great Bluesman played at the tiny Matrix Club for three nights in April and this striking handbill is an amazingly well preserved artifact from that event.
