Arist Jim Phillips is widely known in the skateboarding world for his work with the "Santa Cruz" skateboard company where he served as art director for many years. His career began with his first published work "Woody" which was printed in the spring issue of Surfer Quarterly magazine in 1962. His later surf art appeared in many surfing publications during all of the 1960s.
