Jerry Garcia was an art student years before  becoming guitarist extraordinaire.  From his youth he was known to draw and doodle obsessively During high School he  also attended  art school He would later leave his pens and brushes behind to obsessively study guitar and going on to create the greatest American “Rock” band. Interestingly two decades later while recovering from a diabetic coma in 1986 he would return to his previous love of visual art. In 1990 Garcia began his second career as professional artist . He created several airbrush paintings that were reproduced as small run lithographs by a company called the Art Peddler . Later these designs evolved into a whole range of licensed products.

In this auction we are offering the very first lithograph that Jerry released.  Wetland I.  Serious collectors in every genre are awaree of the value of firsts. The first of anything always demands top dollar. In this case Wetlands one has always been the most valuable and sought after of any of the Garcia prints. Copies of Wetlands 1 have been known to sell for 5 figures. This poster is signed and numbered by the artist. The original certificate is included.
