A battle of the bands which includes The Temptations? Yes please! We are very excited to offer this gem for the first time in our auction! Motown records memorabilia from the sixties is extremely rare and desirable. In the early days of Motown the record company would promote its acts locally in Detroit by organising "Battle of the Stars" competitions at the Graystone Ballroom. Local audiences were encouraged to pledge their loyalty to the bands. By 1964 the record company was growing bigger so these events started to fade away. This may have been one of the last events. Most of these original handbills were thrown away or destroyed making this lot a rare treat especially because the Temptations were so iconic in the realm of Motown!
