Country Joe and the Fish were a prominent 1960’s psychedelic/ Folk rock band and were regular performers at the Fillmore and Avalon Ballroom.  The hard working band also frequented many of Bay Area’s smaller clubs. This socially active band produced some of the finest and most unusual poster art from the period.  Founder Country Joe McDonald was a well-known social activist and was outspoken in his opposition to the Viet Nam War.

This pristine handbill for a show at Berkeley’s Pauley Ballroom was printed using the split fountain printing technique which allows several colors to seamlessly merge. This is a beautiful copy of a rarely seen handbill.
