We see a lot of posters pass through our hands and this masterpiece is one we are excited to offer! In addition to its beauty its museum quality condition makes it exponentially more desirable! Lastly the many collectors of foil posters know that foil posters magnify every tiny flaw making this pristine copy an opportunity that may not present itself again for a long time.
This silver metallic poster for a Blue Cheer Concert at The Earl Warren Fairgrounds in Santa Barbara California is one of the finest posters from this series. In support of the hard rock pioneers were The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band who would release one of the most influential Bluegrass albums of all time with their 1972 “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”. Also on the bill was The Nazz which was Alice Cooper's first band. Because of the confusion with Todd Rundgren's group of the same name they changed their name on this date (after the posters were printed) and played their first show as "Alice Cooper".
In our January 18 2018 auction a mint graded "97" example realized $702. The only difference keeping this example from the same condition grade is very light handling.
