This historic poster marked the first appearance by Jimi Hendrix at the Fillmore. Bill Graham scheduled the groundbreaking guitarist as third on the bill. This would be Hendrix’s first public appearance after blowing away the audience at the Monterey Pop Festival just three days earlier. The promoter took serious heat for his lack of vision so the next time Hendrix played the Fillmore Graham made up for his error by commissioning Rick Griffin to create the most famous Fillmore poster ever – the BG105.
