Unfortunately John Fogerty signed away his publishing rights to an unscrupulous manager Saul Zantz who was also the owner of the band’s label Fantasy records. The final insult came when Zantz sued Fogerty for copying his own style in the Fogerty tune “Old Man Down The Road”.
