This lot features a very special offering from the history of psychedelic pharmacology in America - a rare and desirable Brotherhood of Eternal Love Orange Sunshine card. The provenance of this card is unimpeachable- it was owned by David Mantell who worked with  "The Sunshine Makers"-Nick Sand and Tim Scully in the Windsor Lab..

The history: Here is how David explains the LSD cards:

"In early 1969 I worked in the Windsor Lab where Tim Scully taught Nick Sand and myself the process for making very pure LSD which he had learned from Bear Stanley. The LSD was put in orange tablets a tribute to the Vietnamese monks to suggest the color of their robes. In the market it was known as "Orange Sunshine". I was paid for my work with a quantity of the LSD we made. I wanted to give it away but in a more graceful manner than just handing out pills."

"I offered a cash price at the San Francisco Art Institute for the best graphioc design for cards for LSD distribution.Michael Wood won the contest and designed both cards."Let Sunshine do" was our exapansion on the acronym LSD.I distributed the LSD cards at events in the bay area all for free. This strategy was then adopted by The Brotherhood of Eternal Love."

Psychedleic King Tim inscribed and signed the card "We tried to save the world.Tim Scully".

A previous sale of this historic rarity cataloged as having" aging and wear stains and a tack hole" realized $693 on 5/12/16. This lot is in a different universe quality wise as it remains in beautiful Mint Condition!

The card measures 3 7/8" x 4 7/8" and is on textured index paper.
