Legendary Texas artist Jim Franklin created the Armadillo as the counter culture alternative to the macho Texas Longhorn. The Armadillo became instantly popular. In fact in this ear the University of Texas student voted to change the university symbol from the Longhorns to the Armadillos. The regents and the alums had other ideas.

Armadillio World Headquarters posters are currently enjoying top collector demand. This can be attributed to several reasons including scarcity historical significance as ground zero in the Texas psychedelic scene and a the recently published book on the venue "Armadillio World Headquarters - A Memoir" by Eddie Wilson with Jesse Sublett and forward by Dave Marsh.
