This beautiful handbill is from the Dead's 1974 summer tour a few months before they took a hiatus from playing concerts for a year or so to pursue solo projects and get some rest.  Philadelphia was always a major Grateful Dead "hotspot" and this show was fantastic with an exploratory jamming-segue of songs late in the second set: “Weather Report Suite-Space-Wharf Rat-US Blues”.

Collector interest in vintage concert handbills has been exploding in recent times as reported about often in our blog. Other handbills from this tour and from this show may surface but it will be all but impossible to match this incredible design and unsurpassed state of preservation!
