This poster promotes a unique concert of some musicians at the very beginning of their path to major success. Buffalo Springfield was the Rock/Folk springboard that launched several prominent Southern California musicians and one noteworthy Canadian. The third band on the bill Hourglass was an early band of Duane and Greg Allman. This odd sized Fillmore poster has three different pre-concert print variations.
But as we all know that's not the main story here. The supply of CGC graded posters with a 9.8 grade has been dwindling rapidly due to demand vastly outweighing the miniscule available supply. Posters graded 9.9 generate a feeding frenzy on the rare times they appear at auction. Items grading a PERFECT 10 enjoy a demand that can only be described as THERMO NUCLEAR OVERDRIVE. We let it slip out to some of our better clients that this poster was coming to market and word quickly spread in the collecting community.
Not much more we can say because the PERFECT 10 grade says all you need to know. Suffice it to say that a poster has to really have a "Special Something for CGC to toss the 9.8 grade leapfrog the 9.9 and feel compelled to attach a PERFECT 10. This poster is simply stunning. It must be seen to be fully appreciated. The Spectacular grade has now been assigned it's now up to the market to assign a commensurate value.
