This poster has so much going for it that it's hard to know where to start and where to end. First this poster was designed by Gilbert Shelton one of the most revered and influential counter-culture underground comix artists of all time. And what an amazing design it is. As psychedelic as the come. The 13th Floor Elevators (Rocky Erickson) were influencial in the development of the san fran sound. Their legacy continues today in influcing modern day pschy and indy music genres. Second this poster was created for a show at the famous Vulcan Gas in Austin Texas. Austin has always been the bohiemien hot epicenter of live music. Vulcan was ground zero for all things psychedelic in Texas in the 1960's. Importantly it is known that Vulcan issued their posters in editions of hundreds not thousands. All Vulcan Gas posters are scarce in ANY condition. Third This is the finest quality example we have ever seen handled or heard about. It is absolutely flawless in ALL respects. This poster is MASSIVE in size and the fact it has remained in flawless condition for over 50 years is nothing short of a miracle.
