The Monterey Pop Festival was clearly one of the most pivotal musical events in history. The festival welcomed in the “Summer of Love” and featured the FIRST US PERFORMANCES by both Hendrix and The Who! This is one of the most beautiful important and sought after posters of the entire era and is prominently displayed in The Art of Rock plate 3.5.
This is the RARE LARGE SIZE version of this poster. It is exponentially rarer than the smaller more commonly offered size that was available for purchase at the show. It is our opinion that the LARGE Monterey Pop Festival concert poster offered here is one of the most undervalued issues in the marketplace today. Why? Because this foil poster is beautiful very rare historically very important and can still be acquired at VERY reasonable price levels. All of this is despite the fact that at any given time there are far more collectors seeking this issue out than there are posters that have survived--in ANY condition.
