Rick Griffins Hawaiian Aoxomoxoa is one of most coveted and desirable concert posters in the world. This poster has it all incredible colors stunning design and it’s one of the best examples of the artists signature lettering style. It was created for a concert by one of the greatest bands in history and its scarce.

The Hawaii Aoxomoxoa was inspired by the artwork for the third Grateful Dead album. This poster was created for a run of cancelled 1969 Dead shows in Honolulu Hawaii. As the legend goes the printer did not get paid by the promoter and destroyed all but a handful of copies. This poster is featured in the Art of Rock Plate # 3.116.

The copy we are offering in this sale is bright and beautiful. The colors are rich and well saturated. This print displays beautifully with bright un-faded colors. This copy has a matte finish.

This poster measures 16 3/4” X 27 25/32” and is linen backed. There is evidence of a set of staple holes in each corner that have been professionally fixed. There is a ultra fine barely visible hairline crease 7” from the top that extends 7” from the right edge minor creasing on the left and right edges with minor ink breaks in the lower portion of the right hand side and evidence of a ½” corner bump on the bottom left.

Note: The grade of this poster is a reflection of how the poster would have been graded before the work was done.

*Linen backing is a reliable and reversible method of preservation that is widely accepted in poster collecting circles.
