This amazing poster features artwork by none other than the legendary Terry Gilliam! Produced in 1967, this piece titled "Souvenir of the L.A. Police Dep. Love-In" commemorates and satirizes the June 23, 1967 "Love-In" protest at Century City in Los Angeles, one of the first anti-Vietnam War demonstrations in the city that ended in police violence against protesters. The colors on this example have been painted in.

Artist Terry Gilliam is best known as the animator for and a member of Monty Python. The troupe wouldn't form until 1969, two years after this poster was produced. At this time, Gilliam was primarily working as a strip cartoonist. We are thrilled to offer this piece of his in our auction for the first time!
