Here we have a super scarce Original Kaleidoscope Poster announcing a May 1968 performance by Iron Butterfly. The show was just three days after they recorded their most famous work In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. This art by Mike Salisbury of a painted nude is stunning and wild! The concert took place at the Kaleidoscope, the storied Los Angeles venue that showcased the best bands of the 60s. The shows were presented "in the round" and all of Kaleidoscope’s posters were created to be round in design. Kaleidoscope posters are super popular with collectors due to their unusual round design that mimics the round stage at the venue. This piece is #14 in the series. It’s certainly one of the Kaleidoscope set stoppers and it hardly ever surfaces at public auction.
Condition: pinholes, tape, creases.
