This is only the second time we’ve offered this Original Doors Handbill in our auction! This was at a point in the band’s career when they had already gained national attention. A few months prior, they had made their debut on live TV’s Ed Sullivan Show, and their second album “Strange Days” had already been released, exciting fans across the country. This show occurred at the Berkeley Community Theatre on February 10th, 1968.
On this night in Berkeley, Iron Butterfly opened for the Doors (early and late shows). Archival information states that the legendary Jim Morrison departed from the usual set list and recited his poetry from "The Celebration of the Lizard" during several songs.
