The English posters designed by Michael English and Nigel Waymouth were printed under the monikers Hapshash and the Colored Coat. They are scarce relics from the London Underground of the late 1960s and are stunning works of art in their own right. The posters were colorful, meticulously illustrated screen prints. Hapshash posters promoted shows at London’s Savile Theatre and the UFO (Unlimited Freak Out) Club, and feature breakout performances by Pink Floyd, the Who, and Jimi Hendrix.

This rare promotional poster was produced for the band Art's 1967 single "What's That Sound?". 7. It featured artwork by Hapshash and the Coloured Coat, whose creations are arguably among the most attractive concert posters ever made. This is the first example of this poster to appear in our auction!

Condition Details: Paper loss bottom left, four horizontal creases, foxing.
