This original first printing black & white handbill has been hand colored.
We are pleased to present this original handbill for the FIRST time in our auction! We have offered the post-concert commemorative, split-fountain color poster many times, but this is the first time we've had the original 1969 black & white handbill in our possession. Not many copies of the handbill were printed and distributed, so a year later a commemorative poster was created by Rick Griffin's poster publishing company, California Graphics Exchange. The original show happened on June 13, 1969, during the first week The Who's hallmark TOMMY album appeared on Billboard Magazine's album chart, for a lengthy run of over two years! The group performed all 17 tunes from the LP, electrifying the first live West Coast show audience with the chart-busting music.
Condition Details: Paper loss, hand colored.
