We are pleased to present this second-printing poster featuring THE BEATLES in 1962! This incredible piece announced the opening night at The Star Club in Hamburg, Germany, on April 13th, 1962, with The Beatles listed as the opening act. This commemorative reprint was created for the club's 4th anniversary in 1966. Though not an original advertisement, it is still wildly rare and more than 60 years old.
From August 1960 to May 1962, The Beatles played five residencies in the German city in which they grew their audience and developed as performers. These performances featured the band's ORIGINAL lineup of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best. The addition of Ringo on drums would occur in December 1962, several months after the show advertised here. Their debut album, Please Please Me, wouldn't be released until the following year. The Beatles played many dates at The Star Club throughout 1962, and in 1977 a live album was released that had been recorded at the venue later in the year, Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962.
