This brightly colored poster announced Pat Kilroy and the New Age playing for three nights at the Jabberwock in Berkeley in November 1966. The Jabberwock started as a successful jazz club in the early sixties until it was purchased by Bill "Jolly Blue" Ehlert in 1965. Ehlert converted much of the venue's performances to a more psychedelic sound. In 1966, Ehlert hired Jesse Cahn, who had been a guest drummer for the Chambers Brothers, to co-manage the Jabberwock while he ran the Matrix in San Francisco.
