This pirate printing (FD-14-PP-6) of Mouse and Kelly’s FD-14 “Zig Zag Man” is arguably the most famous bootleg of the San Francisco poster scene. The “Genuine Counterfeit” stamp was the Family Dog's response to thwart the sale of this early bootleg printing. They went around and stamped every copy they could find after they discovered it had been distributed to head shops in San Francisco.
As a note, the FD-14 “Zig Zag Man” was originally one of the most coveted posters in the Haight-Ashbury community of the 1960s and became essential decor, pinned and taped to the walls of the mythological “hippie pad.” Very few original printings remain undamaged.
Condition Details: Pirate. Genuine counterfeit stamp on front.
