This rare poster announced a show at the legendary CBGB in New York City on April 1st, 1978, headlined by The Cramps. The Cramps were part of the early CBGB punk movement that had grown in New York City during the late 1970's. They were also one of the first punk bands to become the prime innovators of "Psychobilly" music.
The legendary venue's full name, CBGB & OMFUG, stands for "Country, Bluegrass, Blues and Other Music for Uplifting Gormandizers". The theme, along with poetry readings, yielded to the movement into punk rock. The Ramones played their first shows at CBGB. Original Posters from this era of this legendary venue seldom surface and are highly collectible.
