We are thrilled to be offering this poster for the second time in our auction! Buffalo Springfield was the Rock/Folk springboard that launched several prominent Southern California musicians and one noteworthy Canadian, the great Neil Young. This run at the Cheetah was some of the last shows with original bass player Bruce Palmer. Four months later, he was deported a second time for drug possession and replaced by Jim Messina.
The opening acts included The Watts, 103rd Street Rhythm Band, and The Nazz. The Nazz was Alice Cooper's first band. Because of the confusion with Todd Rundgren's group of the same name, they changed their name to The Alice Cooper Band.
The historic Cheetah Club was one of the hottest places to play if you were an up-and-coming band in the late sixties. Frank Zappa discovered Alice Cooper there in 1967 and signed him to his label. Janis Joplin and Pink Floyd also performed there. Original Pre-Concert First Printing material from the Cheetah is extremely difficult to locate, so this lot represents a special opportunity.
