The king of the blues, B.B. King, is one of the most cherished musical icons of the century. The late, great American Treasure introduced a sophisticated style of guitar soloing based on fluid string bending and shimmering vibrato that influenced many later electric blues guitarists. This cardboard poster was produced for a show headlined by King at the Hollywood Palladium on June 4th, 1972. It was printed by Colby Poster Printing Co.

The historic Colby Poster Printing Company produced promotional material between 1948 and 2012, and they became legendary for their signature fluorescent inks and bold all-caps typography, although none of the original staff had any formal design training. They were members of the letterpress union, the screen printers union, and the typesetters union.
