This original flyer was produced for Iggy Pop appearing at Montezuma Hall at San Diego State University on November 16, 1977. 1977 was a historic year for Iggy Pop. The Stooges had officially disbanded in 1974, and he released his first two solo albums, "The Idiot" and "Lust for Life" (noted at the bottom of this poster) in the months preceding this show. Both albums were recorded in Europe and produced in collaboration with the great David Bowie.
"The Idiot" was Pop's highest charting album yet, and Bowie played keys in his band for the supporting tour in early 1977, after which they returned to Europe to record "Lust for Life". Along with producer-engineer Colin Thurston, Pop and Bowie chose to produce the album under the pseudonym "Bewlay Bros.", a reference to a track on Bowie's 1971 album "Hunky Dory". "Lust for Life" has gone down in history as one of the greatest albums of the era and is the product of an incredibly legendary collaboration.
